Real-time Communication (Internal)

Vistameet offers comprehensive functions for real-time communication within your organization.

When you are in a chat (room), a menu bar appears in the upper right half of the screen.

Voice Call | Video Call

Signaling an Incoming or Outgoing Call

Vistameet offers various options for audio and video calls:

Call Types:

  • Voice call: Audio transmission only
  • Video call: Audio and video
  • Group call: Multiple participants simultaneously

Start Call:

  1. Click on the call symbol in the chat
  2. Choose between voice or video call
  3. Wait for the call to be accepted

Access Conference Information

During an active call, you can retrieve detailed information:

  • Participant list
  • Call duration
  • Connection quality
  • Technical details

Direct Call

Quick call via search function:

  1. Use the phone receiver symbol in the search bar
  2. Enter the person's name
  3. Start a call directly

Invite People to an Active Meeting

During an ongoing call, you can add more people:

  1. Click on "Add participants"
  2. Select the desired people
  3. Send the invitation

Participate in a Conference as a Guest

External people can participate in conferences as guests:

  • Receive invitation link
  • Guest access without Vistameet account
  • Limited functions for security

Threads

Threads allow you to organize specific discussions without overloading the main conversation.

Create Threads

How to create a thread:

  1. Hover over a message
  2. Click on "Reply in thread"
  3. Write your reply
  4. The thread is automatically created

Access Threads | Overview

Thread Navigation:

  • Click on the threads symbol in the menu bar
  • See all active threads in the room
  • Navigate quickly between different discussions

Thread Features:

  • Separate notifications
  • Own participant list
  • Independent read receipts

Room Information

The information area provides detailed insights into the current room.

People

People Details

Available Information:

  • Online status
  • Role in room
  • Join date
  • Last activity
  • Contact information

Block User

Blocking Users:

  1. Open the user profile
  2. Select "Block user"
  3. Confirm the action

Effects of Blocking:

  • No messages from blocked users
  • No calls possible
  • Hidden in participant lists

Administration Tools

For users with administration rights, extended functions are available:

Remove User from Room

Temporary Removal:

  • User can be invited again
  • Message history remains
  • Immediate effect
Ban User

Permanent Block:

  • User can no longer join
  • All messages remain visible
  • Can only be lifted by administrators
Unban User

Lift the Block:

  1. Go to room settings
  2. Select "Banned users"
  3. Click on "Unban"
Remove Message History

Delete Messages:

  • Delete individual messages
  • Remove entire history of a user
  • Irreversible action

Poll History

Overview of All Polls:

  • Past votes
  • Results and participants
  • Export function for data

Export Conversation

Export Options:

  • Format: Text, HTML, JSON
  • Time Period: Specific dates or complete history
  • Content: Messages, files, metadata

Export Process:

  1. Open room information
  2. Select "Export conversation"
  3. Configure export settings
  4. Start export
  5. Download the file

Share Room

Sharing Options:

  • Direct Link: For quick access
  • Invitation Link: With expiration time
  • QR Code: For mobile devices

Important Note

Retention policies cannot be undone. Make sure important data is backed up before activation.

Use threads for specific discussions to keep the main conversation clear while enabling detailed conversations.

Security

All real-time communication in Vistameet is encrypted by default. For particularly sensitive conversations, you can additionally activate end-to-end encryption.
