Settings - Vistameet App
Through the Settings, you can customize the Vistameet Application to your needs. Since this menu is accessed through different ways, we will only go through the respective menu items once and refer to them in the corresponding chapters.
Menu Item - General
In the menu item "General", you can edit your profile (profile picture, presence status, language setting, spell check). If no profile picture is set yet, the first letter of the display name is set as the profile picture.
Profile
The "Profile" area allows you to set a profile picture.
Upload | Change Profile Picture
To set your own profile picture or modify it, click on the pen icon and select the image storage path on your device in the subsequent window.
The image is uploaded and set as a profile picture. It is not possible to edit it further (e.g., change color or similar).
Remove Profile Picture
To remove your profile picture, click on the "Remove" link.
The profile picture is deleted. You can set a new profile picture via the pen icon. If you don't want to set a new image, the first letter of your first name will be displayed again.
Language and Region
Under "Language and Region", you can change the language of the Vistameet Application. In the drop-down list, you can choose between German and English.
When you switch the language, the application loads the new language interface and the settings menu closes.
Spell Check
By setting the spell check, words with typing errors will be displayed with a red underline, giving you feedback that this word is not spelled correctly.
- You can activate/deactivate the spell check by setting the switch
- By default, the spell check (for the German language) is turned on and active
- Via the dropdown menu, you can select additional languages for spell check
- If you change your language to English, you may need to set the spell check for this language separately
Presence
Under the "Presence" area, you can select which presence state you currently want to have for other users.
In the lower right area of a user's profile picture/icon, a circle is displayed that reflects the currently selected state in color.
Status (Name) | Circle Color | Information |
---|---|---|
Automatic status display | depending on status | Automatic status display, depending on whether the user is currently: "Online", "Offline", "Away", "Busy" or "In a call". |
Busy | Light red | User is currently "Busy" |
Do not disturb | Dark red | User is currently "Busy" and asks: "Do not disturb" |
In a call | Light red | User is in a meeting and asks: "Do not disturb" |
Away | Dark yellow | User was automatically set to "Away" after longer inactivity |
Online | Green | User is currently "Present"/"Online" and thus "Available" |
Offline | Gray | User is currently "Offline" and therefore not active |
- The status "In a call" is automatically set by the system and cannot be selected by the user
- Both the status "Busy" and "In a call" are symbolized with a light red circle
- If you are logged in on multiple devices, the status you last set will be displayed on all devices
Menu Item - Appearance
In the "Appearance" menu, you will find extended options to customize the appearance in terms of design, contrast, layout, and font size to your preferences.
Design
Here you can choose the design of the application, adapt it to your system design (Windows design), and activate/deactivate the high contrast mode.
- The option "Use high contrast" is only available and selectable in the "Light" design
- If you select the option "Adapt to system design", the other options are grayed out
Message Layout
In the message layout, you can choose the appearance of your messages in chat rooms.
Designation | Message Layout |
---|---|
IRC | Messages are displayed next to the name |
Modern | Messages are displayed under the name |
Message bubbles | Messages are displayed under the name and in a speech bubble |
Font Size
When selecting the font size, you can either use the slider or enter a value in the "Font Size" input field.
In the "Font Size" input field, only values between 13pt (point) and 20pt (point) are allowed. Before you can make an entry here, you must first select the checkbox "Use other font size".
Advanced Settings
- Select system font
- Modern compact layout for more compact display
Size in History
You can set the format of the displayed images in your chat histories. The options "Standard" and "Large" are available.
Menu Item - Notifications
In Notifications, you can individually set how you want to be informed about incoming messages.
Various sub-areas of "Notifications" are only displayed by selecting (thus activating) some notification switches.
Notifications
In the "Notifications" switch group, various settings for message options can be set:

Global
In the "Global" switch group, notifications and their signaling can be set according to the type of message (options: "Off" / "On").
You can choose the "Loud" option, which means that when direct messages arrive, for example, a signal tone is played particularly loudly.
Mentions and Keywords
If desired, notifications for messages can also be highlighted through mentions:
- Your display name
- Your username
- @room
- Your set keywords (e.g., project titles)
If you want to add keywords, write a desired word in the "Keyword" field and then click the "Add" button.

In this area, you can select additional notification settings for invitations, calls, and room updates.
The "Mark all as read" button only appears in this area if you have rooms with unread messages waiting for you.
